A beautiful North Norfolk wedding - Becci & David
Becci and David are good friends of mine so it was a real privilege to be asked to photograph their wedding on the family farm land in West Beckham. I know I always go on about the weather in these blog posts (I'm English so that's allowed, right?!) but they literally couldn't have asked for a better day. Warm & sunny, a scattering of fluffy white clouds and a very slight breeze which meant no one overheated, literally PERFECT!I arrived at David & Becci's house to start with the preparation shots, they had specially sown the field next to their house with grass a few months ago so that they could have their reception there and after a few initial worries (David) I was pleased to see the grass looked great, the tipi (from Magical Camping) they had hired looked just superb and they had decorated it beautifully ! So after a good snout around the tipi I headed into the house to get some shots of Becci & the ladies getting ready (and of course Bramley their gorgeous pooch)... Prep shots completed I headed off to Edgefield Church where David and the lads were greeting the guests... After a really beautiful service (seriously, The Lovely Love Story about the dinosaurs customised for David & Becci truly brought a lump to my throat, there was sniffling all around the church!) ...and so it was back to the farm for a tea party provided by Byfords of Holt, plenty of games and some of the funniest speeches I have heard. Ross and Vince (David's best men) had really perfected their comic timing and just how close to the mark they could make their rinsing of David! Vince - you need to quit messing about with this lifeguarding malarkey and take up stand-up comedy! It's always nice to get a shot with everyone in, I usually use a first floor window but have, at times in the past, been lifted up in a low-loader and another time stood on a chair on the roof rack of a wobbly land rover (in front of the whole of the North Norfolk District Council Health & Safety department who were guests at the wedding but that's another story). For the below shot I simply used my monopod and the camera's self-timer, kind of like a selfie stick but without pointing it at myself! David is the oldest of four boys, here he is with his brothers Richard, Robert & George, perched on their classic cars... ...and so the first dance, David's 'favourite' part of the day! Not a big one for dancing, David performed his duty and then leapt onto the stage to perform with his band The Yow Yows and what a great gig, I always recommend the Yow Yows when couples ask me about evening entertainment. They certainly know how to get the crowd going! And there we have it, for the full gallery of Becci & David's wedding photos please click here.I'd just like to thank David & Becci for allowing me to be a part of their day, it really was a special and emotional day, all the best for the future and enjoy your honeymoon in Italy you lucky things! xx
