Krakeslottet, Norway - one amazing week in the Arctic Circle....

About seven hours ago I got home from an incredible week in Norway, I thought I'd bung a few quick shots of the trip on my blog before heading to bed & it's now nearly 6:30am and I've only just finished.  Sometimes I just get carried away & lose track of time (which may explain the permanent bags under my eyes).Anyway, below are a few shots of the amazing building & immediate area of Krakeslottet (meaning Crows Castle in Norwegian) that I stayed at - my bro Nik is the artist in residence there for their July arts festival so myself, my father & Olive (Nik's girlfriend) went over for a week.  My intention was to document the art being created for the festival and to get some landscape images so it was work but very, very enjoyable work!While there we met some amazing people, so friendly and lots of fun, I would love to name them all but I'd only get their names spelled all wrong.....you know who you are.I was also lucky enough to attend two incredible piano recitals, one classical one by Lena and a classical/jazz one by Ida, both were incredible.  One of Ida's songs, a Norwegian folk song in which she sings into the strings of the piano to get some echo really blew me away & I decided I had to ask her if we could make a recording for me to use as a soundtrack for a slideshow of the trip.  Luckily she kindly agreed and the music you hear with the slides below is courtesy of Ida.  Thank you so much Ida for allowing me to do this.The slideshow below is a small snippet of the images I took while out photographing the place and some landscapes of the local area, more images of the art and the people will follow but only after I've processed the two outstanding weddings from before my trip which the couples have been very kind & patiently waited while I went off to Norway...
