Oxford university wedding photography - Sarah & Max at The Bay Tree Inn, Burford
I knew we were going to be in for some architectural treats when Max & Sarah booked me for their wedding photography at their old college at Oxford University - Merton College, followed by a beautiful reception at The Bay Tree Hotel, Burford. I wasn't wrong! Wow!The day's photography started at The Bay Tree with Sarah & the girls having their hair & make up done while enjoying a cheeky champers in the glasses they decorated on the Hen Do... I had to leave the ladies before they were ready in order to get a taxi to Merton College with Max & his best man Omeed, I'm glad we did though, I have no idea where I'd have parked if I'd driven! After a quick exploration and meeting with their lovely chaplain Simon it wasn't long before the two vintage London Routemaster buses (provided by Nostalgia Travel) arrived with the wedding guests while Sarah, her parents & bridesmaids arrived shortly after in classic London Black cabs. After a beautiful & tearful service (Sarah not me!) everyone had a short stroll in the sunshine round to the fantastic college gardens for champagne & after a chance to catch up with their guests myself, Max & Sarah took a wander around the grounds to get some shots of the two of them with usher Harry kindly 'volunteering' to be my mobile light stand for the session - holding the flash for some of the shots and keeping it pointed in the right direction most of the time! ;-) Drinks & photography finished we all piled back onto the buses and headed back to The Bay Tree Hotel at Burford for their reception... It was a real honour and a pleasure to photograph Max & Sarah's wedding in Oxford, many thanks to all of their family and guests for making me feel so welcome. It was really lovely seeing the family again - I photographed Sarah's sister - Hannah (& Richard's) wedding five years ago in Norfolk, obviously did a good job then to be asked back! The full gallery of their wedding photographs is here...
