Sheringham Carnival photos IV

Yesterday was Carnival Day in Sheringham, there were a huge number of people around, loads of events and entertainment laid on all day. Below are a few shots with a link to the full gallery below...The chalk a picture saw a record number of entries with some excellent drawings. Shame we can't spray coat them all with a varnish so they last a bit longer, they look a lot nicer than the grey concrete underneath and brighten up the seafront loads.Below, my young apprentice William got his face painted - on Tuesday he came through to me with felt tip pen all over his legs, when I asked what he'd been doing he said 'I want to be a zebra Daddy' so it was no surprise on Wednesday when he decided he wanted to be a zebra for the face painting! The talent show at the little theatre saw some brave entrants perform for a huge crowd outside, this lad did a great rendition of Wonderwall.....while down the road at the Battle of the Bands 'Spot' entertained another large and appreciative crowd, below we see their ever shy drummer Mike Waters gently tapping out a beat. Gotta love that t-shirt!The East Norfolk militia brought a lovely splash of colour.Below, Flick, Rosa and Olivia brought some glamour to the occasion as always!Below, the Blyth & Wright team maintained their incredible record for superb floats with this homage to Father Ted, here we see a frighteningly accurate Father Jack in full flow. I think this is known as method acting!Below, use #37 for an unwanted toilet cistern float. The guys on this float put real work into their costumes, hand-making the outfits with striking attention to detail, even down to using genuine Roman lino flooring for the chestplates. Great work! The lovely Wendy Hurrell (ITV weather girl) with two local admirers.  Richard, on the right, has since been issued with a restraining order and banned from watching the weather forecast for at least 6 months. For the full gallery of shots from Sheringham Carnival Day 2008 click here.
