Wind turbine construction - commercial photography in East Anglia
This week I was lucky enough to be commissioned to spend two days documenting the building of a wind turbine in East Anglia. We were incredibly lucky with the weather (both for the photography and for the fact that the wind speeds allowed the construction to go ahead without delay). It was a multi media commission involving aerial stills & video using the drone, dSLR video and stills plus GoPro and timelapse cameras.Below are a small selection of the stills taken on my drone and dSLR's, I also got some cracking aerial video footage from the drone (the lovely weather, dramatic skies and photogenic nature of the turbine helped!). I really enjoy the commercial photography aspect of what I do and it gets me to some amazing places as you'll see in the final few images in this blog post! Below, never let it be said that I'm afraid to get my hands dirty! Climbing the turbine & sitting on the top with fellow cameraman Mike was an incredible experience and one I will never forget. I should probably also add that I don't usually look this rough but after two 5:30am starts and long days in the sun & dust I was about ready to collapse! That said though I do enjoy the variety of experiences and challenges presented by commercial photography.
