Alan Partridge: The Movie - filming in Sheringham
I'd been looking forward to this Wednesday for a while - Steve Coogan was coming to Sheringham to film a scene for the Alan Partridge movie due out this August. I've been a big fan of Steve Coogan's work since 'The Day Today' in which Alan Partridge was introduced as their sports reporter so to actually be able to see the filming and meet the man himself was amazing. Despite the media portraying him as a prickly character he seemed in a really good mood and actually had a lot of time for the local people that turned up to see him, stopping a number of times to pose for photographs & sign autographs. It was a great day for Sheringham, the crew were really impressed at how many people turned out to see the filming - handy really as they needed a crowd for the scene, at one point I was stood in front of some of the production team as the chase came down the road & heard one of them say "This is actually an epic moment!"At one point between takes the truck with Steve in stopped just opposite us & he entertained the children with some faces - look at the reflection in the bottom right-hand side of the van window in the below shot, Izabell is finding it hilarious, I think Alan Partridge has a new fan!I'm really pleased with the below shot - Partridge fans will recognise 'Geordie' Michael driving the van & Alan in the back peering through.Below, local extras were given banners & placards to hold as part of the film - which also included son of Worzel Gummidge and housewive's favourite - Sean Pertwee!Yesterday I was in the city for a coffee with my good friend & fellow professional photographer Simon Buck and they happened to be filming at The Forum (I'm not a stalker, honest!), as they stopped for lunch Steve walked past with his P.A. and was kind enough to stop & have a pic with me, thank you to Simon for grabbing this for me!
