Bec & Jamie - a 'Hallowedding' at Southwood Hall, Norfolk wedding photography
Who'd have thought that a wedding on the 31st October (Halloween no less!) would be a warm, sunny affair?! A couple of days before the the wedding Jamie tagged me in a post on Facebook that he hoped we could get a nice sunset for their day, I said I'd had a word with the big guy & we'd got it all sorted. I wasn't joking! The day's photography started at Southwood Hall with the preparation shots of the ladies getting ready at Southwood's Cartshed Lodge - a lovely, light & spacious building with it's own spa bath, no harm in a little luxury for your wedding! Shortly after I arrived the lovely ladies from Constance Rose delivered the stunning floral arrangements for the day, they really did an incredible job and I'd have no hesitation in recommending them... Leaving the girls to get on with their final preparations (ie. getting their dresses on!), I went over to the main hall to get some detail shots of the place before it was invaded, it looked stunning......and of course a quick trip to Southwood House (one of the three other accommodation buildings in the grounds) where the lads were getting ready... ...all ready and awaiting the signal to enter the barn where Jamie and the guests were waiting... Formals, confetti and aerial group shot completed, the guests were left to enjoy the champagne & canapes in the sunshine while we took a quick wander around the grounds for some couples portraits before everyone was seated for the meal... Once all the guests were seated one person from each table was asked to rendezvous by the kitchen for a mystery mission - they were the selected carvers for each table and some enjoyed wearing the chef's hats & aprons more than others!Bec & Jamie had previously said that if we were lucky enough to get a decent sunset that they'd like to do some shots between courses, luckily we were blessed with pretty good skies so we made the most of it... You can't have a Halloween wedding without some rubbish vampire teeth - I picked these up for Bec & Jamie at the pound shop the week before while getting some bits & bobs for the kids for halloween. You really do get what you pay for!Between the speeches & the first dance Jamie's brother entertained the guests with an amazing performance on his guitar, certainly got the crowd warmed up for the first dance and the band to follow! So there you have it, a superb November wedding at the beautiful Southwood Hall, thank you to Bec & Jamie & families for a fantastic day and allowing me to be a part of your wedding and thank you to Eleanor and the lovely team at Southwood Hall for making sure I was well looked after on the day.The full gallery of Bec & Jamie's Norfolk wedding photography is at my gallery here.Wedding photographers in Norfolk - Chris Taylor Photo
