Wedding photographers Norfolk - a wedding at Holt - Emma & David
Just a short trip down the road for me is Emma's father's farm just outside Holt where we started the day's photography for Emma & David's North Norfolk wedding. With a thick mist surrounding us it wasn't looking promising for the day's weather but the weatherman had promised sunshine so would he deliver? The day started with the bridal preparations, everyone was in great spirits and staying positive for that big yellow thing in the sky to make an appearance... As you can see the actual weather was pretty different from the forecast! Preparations complete I left ahead of the ladies to get to the church for a few shots of David & the lads and some of the guests arriving...A short while later Emma & the bridal party arrived, having been very calm all morning I think the emotions of the day caught up with Emma & there was a bit of a tearful moment before they went into the church! The 'churchy bit' completed we all headed back to the Ross's farm for the reception and wedding breakfast, as you can see below the sun finally burned through the low lying clouds and gave us a beautiful afternoon & evening... I'm lucky enough to photograph quite a few farm weddings in Norfolk and always like to make use of the farm buildings as a backdrop for the couple's shots, I love the warm colour of these storage shed doors. After drinks, canapes and games in the sunshine it was time to head in for the wedding breakfast followed by some superb speeches, topped off by a Swiss-style musical interlude by David's parents & grandmother (David's family are from Switzerland). As the sun began to set myself, Emma, David and their two lovely friends Fran & Bongi headed down to the farm quarry in my car for a few more shots... Unfortunately disaster stuck in the form of me making a bad decision when turning the car around and getting stuck in the soft sand! I was mortified as the groom and Bongi tried to push my car out of the sand but it was going nowhere so the only option was for us all to walk the half mile back to the farm & borrow Stuart's farm truck to tow me out. Thankfully everyone took it in great spirits and on the plus side it did give me a chance to get some more photos of Emma & David walking back along the country lane... Pretty soon after we got back to the party (and I managed to get my car towed out of the sand - big thanks to Ben for the tow (and Stuart for the loan of the truck)) it was time for the first dance... David had tasked one of his friends to photograph all of the guests for their guestbook holding this picture frame, I jumped in to grab a shot of the happy couple having theirs done and wasn't the only one jumping in! So, my work was done and I left them to enjoy the rest of the night. Many thanks to Emma & David and their family and friends and to Stuart & Elizabeth for their hospitality, it was a great day to be fondly remembered by all.For the full gallery on Emma & David's Norfolk wedding please click here.
