A beautiful wedding at The Boathouse, Ormesby - Kelly & Christian
Last Saturday was the first time I had photographed a wedding at The Boathouse, Ormesby. I'd heard great things and they are getting an insane amount of wedding bookings there each year despite having only started offering weddings fairly recently so I was looking forward to Kelly & Christian's wedding.I arrived early so I had a wander around the grounds to familiarise myself with what we had to work with and it was a feast of great views across the water, a beautiful outdoor setting for the ceremony and some great opportunities for photos... I found the ladies getting ready upstairs, it was a hive of excited activity with Princess Millie probably being the most excited (and most keen to get in every shot possible!) Christian and the boys arrived by boat - a truly gorgeous custom-built wooden boat, electric powered to minimise noise and pollution and driven by the nicest fella you could ever wish to meet...This blog post would be incomplete without a mention of Christian's wedding shoes, no one told him the bride was supposed to have the flashiest shoes on the day! Gotta love that style! After a beautiful ceremony our amazing ferryman took myself & the happy couple for a quick lap of Ormesby Broad - a chance for me to get some different photos and for Kelly & Christian to have a little time to themselves before heading back into the melee! Beautiful wedding flowers provided for the day by Lavenders Blue of Aylsham. Drinks, canapes, boat trip & group photos done it was time to head in for the wedding breakfast and speeches...While the guests enjoyed their meal I hung out with the local wildlife and took a few moments to get the quadcopter out for some aerial shots. I'm always happy to include some aerial photography at weddings at no extra charge (as long as the weather conditions allow and the property owners give their permission). The aerial shots are a great way to show the venue and it's surrounding countryside. With the meal completed it was speech time.... ...and so to the final 'duty' of the day for Kelly & Christian - the first dance - they had hired an industrial strength dry ice machine for their first dance, apparently known as Dancing on Clouds. Made for some cool shots... After the first dance the guests had been asked to bring masks for an evening of fun & dancing (another great idea and made for some fun photos!)... So there it is, a stunning Norfolk wedding at The Boathouse, Ormesby - a superbly laid out venue in a unique setting on the world-famous Norfolk Broads. It was an honour to be a part of Christian & Kelly's wedding day and a real pleasure to meet their families & guests. The full gallery of images is available here, viewing is free and reprints may be ordered online - as a special offer I have set a 50% - that's HALF PRICE! - discount on all reprints ordered within the next 7 days on the gallery (discount automatically provided at checkout), just another bonus for choosing Chris Taylor Photo as your Norfolk wedding photographer!
